Detalied Map of Buenos Aires http://www.lonelyplanet.com/maps/south-america/argentina/
Buenos Aires http://www.geographia.com/argentina/buenosaires/Index.htm This complex, energetic, and seductive port city, which stretches south-to-north along the Rio de la Plata, has been the gateway to Argentina for centuries. Portenos, as the multinational people of Buenos Aires are known, possess an elaborate and rich cultural identity. They value their European heritage highly--Italian and German names outnumber Spanish, and the lifestyle and architecture are markedly more European than any other South American countries. One of the world's finest opera houses, the Teatro Colon, flourishes here on the plains alongside the river. Portenos are intensely involved in the life and culture of their city, and they will gladly share the secrets of Buenos Aires if you lend an ear and relate your own stories in return. Buenos Aires' physical structure is a mosaic as varied and diverse as its culture. The city has no dominating monument, no natural monolith that serves as its focal point. Instead, Buenos Aires is composed of many small places, intimate details, and tiny events and interactions, each with a slightly different shade, shape, and character. Glass-sheathed skyscrapers cast their slender shadows on 19th century Victorian houses; tango bars hazed with the piquant tang of cigar smoke face dusty, treasure-filled antique shops across the way.
The city's neighbourhoods are small and highly individualized, each with its own characteristic colors and forms. In the San Telmo district, the city's multinational heritage is embodied in a varied and cosmopolitan architecture- Spanish Colonial design couples with Italian detailing and graceful French Classicism. La Boca's pressed tin houses are painted a rainbow of colors, and muralists have turned the district's side-streets into avenues of color. For all its diversity, the elusive spirit of Argentina as a country is present everywhere in Buenos Aires. The national dance, the tango, is perhaps the best expression of that spirit--practiced in dance halls, parks, open plazas, and ballrooms, it is a dance of intimate separation and common rhythm, combining both an elegant reserve and an exuberant passion. upload.wikimedia.org

Since I like soccer, the only thing I knew about Argentina was that they had really good soccer team. All those buildings of Buenos Aires fascinated me and made me realize how much the Argentines enjoyed European like styles while being a South American country! They have delicious sweets that you can enjoy during your trip. These are the reasons why I think this country is so versatile for having sports, great city, great environments, and delicious sweets. This certainly is a city that I look forward to visit again and I can be 100% sure that this trip is worth it to go on anytime.
www.soccernucleus.com • What is the country of Argentina known for? List 3 themes and explain how they personify • Argentina. • First of all, Argentina is very well known for their national soccer club. Argentina has • won the national tournaments, FIFA World Cup twice recently in 1978 and 1986. They • several times ranked first in FIFA ranking. The most recent ranking, in FIFA ranking • 2009, Argentina is 7th place. From my observation, Argentines have great long passes • which lead to lots of goals. There’s a young competent Argentine player who’s name’s • Lionel Messi. Messi plays for the Spainsh club team, FC Barcelona. A lot of people all • over the world are debating about either ChristianoRonaldo or Lionel Messi is the best • player in the world. ChristianoRonaldo can dribble in speed and ease while Messi’s • known for playing as if the ball is glued to his foot. This is how strong the Argentine • soccer team is. A lot of people say soccer’s a second religion for the Argentines. Soccer • definitely personifies Argentina because soccer is almost everything for them, and it • shows how proud and strong Argentina is.
Secondly, Argentina is known for abundance and beauty of natural resources. The natural resource that is known all over the world is Andes Mountains. The Andes Mountains are located in South America, running north to south along the western coast of the continent. The latitude is 10° N. to 57° S. The longitude is 70° W. to 80° E. The Andes Mountains are famous for they are the longest, and one of the highest mountains in the world. Andes are separated into three regions: the southern, central, and northern. Northern region is the hottest comparing to other regions because it’s closer to the equator. In Southern region, it is certainly the coldest, because it is close to Antarctica. There are also lots of unique animals living on the Andes Mountains such as Alpaca, Andean Condour, Chinchilla, Llama, Vicuna. The natural resources are certainly one of the most fascinating thing in Argentina. The mountains personify Argentina for they show how refreshing Argentina is. http://www.blueplanetbiomes.org/andes.htm http://www.blueplanetbiomes.org/andes_animal_page.htm
Lastly, Argentina can be personified with chocolate. The city of Bariloche was Mentioned in the previous slides. The information on Bariloche was written generally. The European immigrants settled in Bariloche and started a Tradition in this beautiful town. The stores are known to be elaborate to fancy the sweetness of the chocolates. The Incas The Incans are the ancient group of people that used to inhabit the area near Andes. The Incans had a great achievement in their society for they developed a vast empire peopled around twenty million Indians in less than a century. Incan society was referred to be made up of ayllus. Ayllus simply meant Incan society was clans of families who lived and worked together. Each allyu was supervised by a curaca or chief. Their houses were usually made out of stone and mud. They clothed themselves with Alpaca and many of their religious ceremonies included animals. The ranks of the Incans were like this: The King, High Priest and the Army Commander, the Four Apus( the regional commander), temple priest, architects, administrator and army generals, artisans, musicians, army captians, and the quipucamayoc. Below these were basically farmers, sorcerers, herding families, and conscripts. Incans lived in this condition for hundreds of years undisturbed. The disaster of the Incan society encountered as the light-skinned strangers encountered. The Spanish conquerors annihilated the Incans, and their civilizations without a hesitation. Now days, the continent of ancient Incans is called South America, and the people that inhabit on there still use the language of Spanish people ; blatantly influenced by the ancient conquerors.
According to the history of the Incas, there are various things that are different From the lives of Incas and the modern Argentines. First of all, generally, the Clothing that the modern Argentines wear are certainly different from the Incans. The Incans had the styles of Indians; usually some symbols on their half exposed Bodies. On the other hand, modern Argentines wear just normal cloth. The modern Argentines are usually not exposed a lot. Their lives are also very different. The Incas Civilizations had gods to believe in and they were certainly very religious. The modern Argentines; though do have religions, but they don’t depend their whole lives on The gods. Lastly, the way of feeding themselves are totally different. The modern Argentines would go stores and get their rations of their lives there. However, the Incans, Being so ancient would go hunting for their food. Basically, you can imagine most of the things very different from modern Argentines and ancient Incans.
