Update Objectives • Describe core elements of the Retroactive Coverage Option • Provide status update on implementation of program
Retroactive Coverage Program Core Elements: • Program offers coverage retroactive to January 1 for Marylanders who attempted to enroll through MHC, but did not get coverage • Targeted outreach • Dedicated hotline (1-800-396-1961) for consumers to call in and register • Consumers must pay January and February premiums • All four carriers are participating (Evergreen, United, Kaiser, CareFirst)
Retroactive Coverage Program Core Elements: • Two-part Process • Consumers register through hotline; cases will be investigated • Consumers will be contacted to complete manual enrollment • Key Dates: • January 21: deadline to register through hotline • February 7: deadline to send files to carriers • February 15: deadline for consumers to pay bill
Implementation Update • Through January 21 deadline: • Outreach: 2,209number of outreach emails • Outreach: 3,045number of outbound telephone calls • 2,130inbound calls received by hotline • 1,407consumers registered
