  2. Promotes the donation of wild game. • They collect wild game through donation to give to those less fortunate. • They try and encourage hunters to donate wild game that they themselves cannot consume. • Several different processors will accept the donation.

History of SDSAH • The SDSAH was established in 1993 by the Black Hills Sportsmen's Club in Rapid City through the leadership of Dr. Jeff Olson. • In the fall of 2005, expansion was initiated by increasing the number of participating game processors from 8 to 36. • The purpose of the SDSAH program was to encourage, and provide an easier way for hunters to donate harvested game to needy families.

  4. Accomplishments • In 2007, nearly 75,000 pounds of game meat were donated by hunters through SDSAH. • Hunters donated almost 2,100 deer, 48 antelope, and one elk, as well as 1,050 pheasants.

  5. More Information • Donate to help this wonderful cause. • South Dakota hunters have now donated more than 255,000 pounds of venison to needy families. That's 1,020,000 meals of meat for the hungry! • http://www.feedtheneedsd.com/index.php
