  3. Objectives • Help track progress on WSIS goals • Strengthen WSIS stocktaking • Support efforts of all partners implementing WSIS • Share information to help target efforts, reduce overlap and stimulate collaboration

  4. May 08 Launch • Africa portal launched at ITU TELECOM Africa – global map coming soon • Collaboration with Microsoft and IDV Solutions • On-line mapping application to showcase + track WSIS/ICT projects • Also includes ICT stats, fibre links, GSM coverage, ICT training centres and telecentres • Open tool for all stakeholders

  5. Next Steps • Develop and launch global tool for WSIS stocktaking and telecentres portal • Encourage partners to add their projects/centres • Password protected access so partners can input and update as required • Seek feedback to evolve application to meet needs of partners/users
