Student vs. Parent Account • Students • Use the same user id and password they use to log onto a computer within the building • Can view only their grades and resources for their active classes • Parents • Must create a My BCPS Account (employees may use existing credentials or create a parent account) • Requires a two-step process • Create a My BCPS Account • Add students • Can view grades for all students in BCPS including more than one school with one account

One Page Flyer • Schools sent home a yellow flyer with students. • Other schools did not necessarily send them home on the same day. • Directions for creating an account and a Parent Verification code • Each individual student has a unique Parent Verification code. • This code may be used by both parents/guardians • What if I lost the flyer? • Contact Lynn Jacobs or Linda Oliver

  4. Creating a My BCPS Account • Visit bcpsone.bcps.org • Click on Create a Parent Account

  5. Creating a My BCPS Account • Enter the information requested including a valid email account and then click Create.

  6. Creating a My BCPS Account • You will receive an email with an Activation code. • Copy the Activation Code • Click on the link in the email to return to the Account page.

  7. Creating a My BCPS Account • Enter your email in the field at the top. • Enter or Paste the Activation Code in the field at the bottom. • Click Activate Account

  8. Creating a My BCPS Account • You should see an Account Activation Success Screen. • Click Sign In.

  9. Creating a My BCPS Account • Once your account is activated, you will be taken to a screen where you can log in the first time. (Please enter at least one student when you activate the account.) • Enter your email and the password you selected in creating the account.

  10. Adding Students to Your Account • The first time you log in you are taken to the Account Profile. • You should all of the information you entered when creating the account. • Click Add Student to enter the Validation code for each student.

  11. Adding Students to Your Account • You will need the Validation Code from the flyer. • Each student has a unique code.

  12. Adding Students to Your Account • A pop-up window opens • Validation number (with dashes) • Student birth date • Click submit What if I get an error message?

  13. Adding Students to Your Account • You should now see the student listed in your profile. • Click on Add Student Again to add another student.

  14. Logging In and Viewing Grades • When you wish to view your student’s grades, go to http://bcpsone.bcps.org (no ‘www’; works best with Chrome) • Log in to your account

  15. Logging In and Viewing Grades • To change between students within the same school, click the arrow by the box to access the dropdown.

  16. Logging In and Viewing Grades • For students in more than one school, select the appropriate school first.

  17. Logging In and Viewing Grades • For employees with students in BCPS schools • Toggle between roles by selecting the role in the drop down on the upper right (your child’s name will indicate the parent ‘role’)

Help and Assistance • Call the school 410-887-3525 • Email me hjennings@bcps.org • For questions about creating an account send an email to mybcps@bcps.org • For questions about the BCPSOne gradebook email bcpsone@bcps.org • Check your provider if you do not receive the email. AOL and Yahoo have been rejecting emails from BCPS. Some parents have reported issues with hotmail as well.
