Discussion Director – You job is to develop a list of questions that your group might want to discuss about the reading and direct the discussion by asking each member for their input based on their current role.
Vocabulary Connector – You job is to find words that are interesting, new, important, or used in an unusual way. Remember to indicate where these words are found in the text so we can discuss how they are used.
Illuminator – Your job is to find passages your group would like to hear read aloud. Passages should be memorable, funny, interesting, puzzling or important. Be ready to talk about why you chose these passages and what you want to say about them.
Artist – Your job is to illustrate something important that is happening in this chapter. You may pick a particular passage to illustrate, or you may encompass the entire chapter. Be prepared to explain what you are illustrating and why you chose this passage to visualize.
Connector – your job is to connect the contents of the reading selection to current or past real world events and experiences. You can also connect the reading to other forms of literature, music, art or media.
Summarizer – Your job is to prepare a brief summary of the reading. You group discussion will start with you 1-2 minute statement that covers the key points, main highlights, general idea, and essence of the reading.
