Passionate Pursuit of God We are STSA – Part 4 June 3, 2012
LIMITLESS ACCEPTANCE We believe that every person who enters our church is the most important person in the world. That person is sent by God and should be loved and accepted as such.
AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY We believe God created the church to fulfill our relational needs in addition to our spiritual needs. We reject superficiality in relationships with one another just as we reject superficiality in our relationship with God.
TRANSFORMATI0NAL COMMUNAL WORSHIP We gather to be transformed by the real Presence of God in our midst every time we meet. Liturgical prayer is not just a routine; it is life giving and real. It is the center of our life as a family.
PASSIONATE PURSUIT OF GOD We don’t stop worshipping after we leave the church. We seek to live passionate lives for God, pursuing Him every day through prayer, Bible reading, giving, witnessing and everything we do.
Mark 12:30 “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength”
Colossians 3:23 “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men”
Romans 12:11-12 “…not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer”
1 Timothy 4:7 “exercise yourself toward godliness”
Psalm 38:4-6 “My iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. My wounds are foul and festering because of my foolishness. I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.”
John 13:8 Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”
Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Ephesians 5:15-16 “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Exodus 34:14 “you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God”
Psalm 107:43 “Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider the great love of the LORD.”
“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:15-16
