  2. Project 2 • You will be building a T-shirt Design in Illustrator. • The final design will be due in the class folder on May 3rd at the beginning of class. • The thumbnail sketches will be due April 28.

  3. The Rules • You must save all your files as Lastname_Firstname_Project2. • You must put the illustrator file, the jpg file, and a doc file of works cited (if necessary). • Keep the logo size within 10 inches by 10 inches. • You must have 3 thumbnail designs on paper (due April 28). • Your theme for the project is “Flight.” • Do not make a text-only shirt. • You can only use up to 3 CMYK colors (not counting background). • The background will be the color of your shirt. • No gradients.

What? • Thumbnails are rough quick sketches to explore layout options. • Don’t fret over details, these should be quick sketches • Do these with paper and pencil • You must submit at least 3 of them on paper before Thursday, April 28. • Be sure to put your name on it • You can make as many as you desire really, 3 is the minimum

Tips • Use your thumbnails • *~Plan Time Wisely~* • Create a unified design, not mish-mash of random objects • Exploit the Gestalt and color theories • Don’t be scared to use reference material (just cite it in a doc). • Have fun with it and push to your limit, this is to help you level up your graphic design skills
