  2. ANALYSING ADOLESCENT ALCOHOL Use IN AUSTRALIA from 2006 • Aim: To investigate and “make visible” rates of underage drinking in Australian teenagers. Specifically, we are aiming to examine how changes in Australian Government funding have impacted on adolescent alcohol consumption. • Method: Statistics, studies, surveys, graphs and visualisations. • Result: Making statistics and facts visible to the public. This will tell the story of the relationship between the amount government funding necessary to impact upon teenage alcohol consumption.

  3. visualisation This graph indicates the amount of Government Funding spent on campaigns targeting alcohol consumption in youths

  4. Visualisation • This graph indicates the percentage of High School students aged 12-17 who have consumed alcohol in their lifetime

  5. VISUALISATION

  6. Analysing our visualisations • To what extent does it pre-exist our making it visible? To what extent are we ‘creating’ it via making it visible? Or both? • What difference does it make to publish such a visualisation? • In which publics does such a visualisationintervene?
