Course description The course is presented in eight steps 1. Imagination and essence 6. image consultations 2. Somatic response 7. image consultations 3. The running stream image 8. image consultations 4. Co-consciousness 5. Co-Telling the story in the image
Step One imagination and essence • Have you ever seen an animal with the head of an eagle and the tail of a fox? • Probably not, but you can see such an animal in your imagination Image: See an animal with the head of an eagle and the tail of a fox
Image Journal • Using an Image Journal Form • Write what was seen in the mind • Add any comments (memories or experiences) This Journal is for your eyes only unless you choose to share your image in the discussions. Keeping a journal of your image experiences will allow you to look back as you learn more and see how your awareness and understanding have changed as a result of the image process.
What is an eidetic image? With the image of the Eagle and Fox in mind, let’s examine basic concepts of an eidetic image. Where do they come from? What do they show? How do they work”
Basic elements of an Eidetic Image • Source: Springs spontaneously in to your mind • Where did the image you saw seem to come from? • Wholeness: the image is a hologram, complete with everything in it • Notice you can focus on different parts of the image, scan, and examine different aspects of the image) • Shows the essence of the object • Notice you get a feeling of “ eagleness” and “foxiness” in the image • Connection to the body: • Feel the body reaction you get to the essence seen in the image • Repeatability: Can be seen again and again • See the image again now
How it works • Eidetic images are projected, not created (not consciously produced) • They are active, they move on their own ( do not have to guide or direct) • Image instructions only focus attention • Concentrated attention spontaneously ignites imagination and opens the image • The image shows the essence of what is being seen and connects with the body • Eidos – an unseen essence
In summary • Eidetic Images are an act of pure imagination which spring spontaneously in the mind and have special qualities that reveal the essence of what is seen and create a response to that essence in the body. • Eidetic images have hologramic permanence which makes them robust to observation, scanning, and repeated projections. • They also have the ability of movement by which they can deepen and change with progressive projections.
Image Practice Do the Eagle and the Fox image over and over, making a new journal entry for each one.
