Why Energy Efficiency Programs? • Senate Bill 1918 signed July 10, 2009, established energy efficiency targets for natural gas utilities • Now section 8-104 of the Public Utilities Act, requires gas utilities to implement EE programs to reach targets • During the EEP timeframe, Act requires: • 0.2% reduction from 2009 deliveries by May 31, 2012; • An additional 0.4% by May 31, 2013, increasing total savings to 0.6%; and • An additional 0.6% by May 31, 2014, increasing total savings to 1.2% in the first three years.

Rider 30 Programs • Targeted Launch June 1, 2011 • Close coordination and joint programs with other Utilities • The overall goal is to encourage energy efficient choices in new and existing residential homes and businesses
