Habitat • Island of Tasmania, which is just south of the mainland of Australia. • It’s habitat is a brushy forest with lots of leaves and branches.
Food and Hunting • It prowls through the undergrowth • Pounces on lizards, snakes, insects, and other small marsupials. • As soon as the sun sets, the quoll will sneak into the night in search of prey.
Nesting Behaviors and Raising its Young • The gestation period is 21 days. • A baby quoll, is the size of a grain of rice. • Up to 18 quolls are born in each liter, but only 6 survive
Interesting facts • Quolls are marsupial carnivores. • They look like cats • People often call them marsupial cats. • Quolls have sharp teeth and claws for hunting. • They hunt birds, lizards, and even small kangaroos!
