Objectives • Understanding IA concept • To explain the network connection in a matric. • IA application
Introduction • • Agent • “receive an input from the environment through a sensor (receiver) and react automatically to the input received.” (Rusell & Norvig, 1995) • • To think about something that can help automatically
Basic idea… Sensor Receiving Environment Action Connector Agent = Environment Action
Agent diversion • • Interface agent • - through interface application • • Multi agent system • More than an agent in the network. • • Animated Agent • • Autonomous Agent / Robotic • • Mobile agent
Agent construction • • IA design need for a • Performance measure : result or application cause • Environment : entity interact with the agent • Connector: entity that display the agent behaviour. • Sensor: entity that can provide an input to the agent
Eg:Application • • Application : an agent for diagnosis system • Result: healthy patient, cheap cost, accurate diagnosis. • Environment: medical staff, medicines, hospital, patient • Connector: display screen (test, diagnosis, treatment) • Sensor: entry from the keyboard (symptom, discovery, patients’ answer)
Example The computer do the diagnosis and display the result Entry Patient data Print out or other output Treatment information
Example: PEAGENT • Web based interactive agent • Developed in AISIG, FTM • Receive APMITTA 2000 Merit Award • • Development • Data structure and Algorithm analysis learning\ • Implement 4 animated agent as a virtual tutor • Communicating in BM
Other examples.. • E-mail agents (e-mail prioritization and checking) ~ MAXIMS, Top of Mind & Beyond Mail, CARNIVORE (FBI). • Web Browsing Assistant (facilitate browsing, managing hyperlinks) ~ LETIZIA, NetComberActivist (IBM), Froogle, Copernic Agents. • Searching Agent (web robots, spiders ~ to search the web) ~ Lycos, Excite, Google, Web Crawler. • Network Management & Monitoring (to manage, diagnose, security checking) ~ Patrol Application Manager, WatchGuard (Seattle Software Lab), AlertView (Intel Corp.), • Collaboration (automation and sharing of group task) ~ Notes Agent (Lotus Note)
