Nuclear power phase-out After Japan’s Fukushima nuclear disaster -> chancellor Angela Merkel’s coalition announced on May 2011 that Germany’s 17 nuclear power station will be shut down by 2022 -> nuclear exit laws -> green policy -> support of renewable energies -> carbon dioxide reduction

Ecologicalrestorationofthe Neckar • Substantial changes along the Neckar(because it is a waterway and industrial water resource) • Many initiatives are dealing with the ecological restoration of the Neckar → recreation areas and habitats for animals and plants. → fish no longer die because of lack of oxygen.
