  3. Variable Testing • Performed at different starting temperatures • Samples were submerged for 1.5-6 hours • Used CTI hydrogen peroxide solution • Coating removal was visible

  6. Visible Results • Increased time in ultrasonic unit decreased amount of coloration • As temperature increased, rate of stripping increased slightly

Significance of Corrosion Testing Results • Protection of tank integrity and estimation of tank lifetime • Direct vs. indirect stripping methods • Calculation of tank lifetime when used with certain solutions • Protection of the base metal of the product • Limit uncoated exposure time in ultrasonics • Chlorides (PVC shavings) may have greater effect over longer time frame • Recommend using HCl for future testing
