  4. Astrophysics & Human Biology of Sun Tanning Long-term harmful effects of UV • Skin Cancer • Basal-cell Carcinoma • Squamous-cell Carcinoma • Malignant Melanoma • Deadliest of the skin cancers (20% die within 5 yrs) Uncle Lou worked out in the sun. He had several moles removed.
