Overview • What is it? • A 30-day eco lifestyle • challenge inspired • thousands of high school • and college students. • Goal • To transition participants from conventional to conscious living through simple, fun, and high impact daily steps.
How It Works… • Every day will be uniquely themed • to demonstrate the variety, • relevance, and accessibility of • sustainability in today's world. • Participants will be given Green, • Greener, Greenest, and Extra • Credit Challenges each day to • engage, learn, and experience. • Students will submit innovative • multimedia answers with text, • visuals, and videos. Resources • provided information that • mobilized action.
How It Works… • 20 Daily prizes are distributed for the best challenge submissions in the greener and greenest categories, and points will be allocated for completed challenges according to level of difficulty. • At the end of October challengers will be asked to submit a “final exam” which consists of both a video and written application. The exam in combination with total points from the daily challenges, will be used to choose the 12 challenge finalists admitted to Green University. Green University 12 challenge finalists will be chosen to participate in Green U 2013. This December winners will be flown to San Francisco where leaders and eco experts will share their wisdom and mentor Challengers in the creation of social action platforms. These social action platforms will be incorporated into TTG’s 2014 initiatives as well as PGC 2014. PGC 2011 Challenge Finalists at Green U
How do I get involved? Its easy! Just head to…. http://www.teensturninggreen.org/project-green-challenge/ and click on the sign up button! On September 25 you will receive an email prompting you to head to the PGC site and choose a username and password. Beginning October 1, you will get a daily email at 4am PST providing you with a link to the daily challenge page, where you can sign in, review the daily challenge material and upload your answers! You can always register through your campus reps as well! Challengers, campus reps, eco leaders and staff at Green U 2011!
