Religion According to the American Religious Identification Survey (ARIS) (2008), the results of Asia Americans surveyed showed that • Agnostic 27% • Eastern Religion (i.e. Hindu) 21% • Christian (other than Catholic) 21% • Catholic 17% • Muslims 8% • No response 6%
According to the US Bureau of Statistics (2000), 66% of all Asian Americans live in just 5 states. Hawaii 63.6% California 12.1% New York 5.6% Illinois 3.4% Texas 2.9% Demographics

Some facts that influenced their immigration • 1750 – Shortage of Africa Slaves. • 1848 – Gold Rush in California. - Contract laborers in Hawaiian sugarcane plantations. • 1945 – War Brides Act, after WWII • 1965 - Immigration Act of 1965, which abolished the 1924 act that was used stop Asia American immigration by quotas and preference systems.
Education Of Asian Americans 25 years or older • 86% are high school graduates • 49% hold Bachelor’s degrees or higher. (This is the highest of any other race or ethnic group.) • 20% have advanced degrees (Master’s, PhD, M.D., J.D.), as compared to 10% of all Americans 25years +.
Interesting facts • May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. • Celebrated by 14.9 million US residents that said that they were Asian or Asian combination in July 2006, that’s 5% of total population. • 33.4 million will be celebrating by 2050. This will be 8% of total population.
