Most people like using hand gestures. It’s an easy and interesting way to “speak” when words don’t work. However, sometimes the same hand gestures have different meanings in different countries. Check out the followings! OK sign In China, it means OK and good. French people understand it as zero. Japanese read it as money. But don’t show this gesture to a Greek. Greeks think of it as an insult. Be careful!
Thumbs-up Do you know what thumbs-up means in different cultures? In England, it means well-done and good. To most Europeans, it shows the number one. Europeans count in a different way from ours. The thumb stands for number one and the little finger stands for number five. But don’t use this gesture in Italy’s Southern Sardinia unless you want to pick a fight!
