Cool Condensation Aim: To understand and identify what is condensation. “Does it have anything to do with condensed milk?”
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Changing state
What are the three states of matter? A space, liquid and gas B space, line and gate C solid, liquid and gas D solid, line and gate
What are the three states of matter? A space, liquid and gas B space, line and gate C solid, liquid and gas D solid, line and gate
Which of these takes the shape of the container? A solids, liquids & gases B solids only C liquids only D gases only

So what is condensation? • Condensation is: • A process – a change of state • Cooling process of gas to liquid • It is the opposite of evaporation
Condensation in action! You teacher will now show you a cold can of drink, mirror and pair of glasses. See how the water droplets form on the objects. Breathe on the glasses and mirror! Challenge Question: Which object do you predict condensation will remain the longest?
Condensation happens through flowers too! Watch carefully as your teacher prepares the flower. How do you think the water from the cylinder is able to reach the ziplock bag?
Condensation Contained! While you wait for condensation to happen, get your CWB and draw a diagram with a paragraph explaining the process. - Title: Condensation • It’s time for you to create your own mini environment that will let you observe “condensation”. • Materials: • Container • Plastic cup • Cling film • Ice cubes • Hot water
Invisible Water Vapour • So we have seen that when condensation happens, water droplets are formed. • Question: Where does this water even come from?? • Answer: The Air. • Water vapour (gas) is actually invisible to the human eye. • There are tiny water particles in the air. The more HUMID the environment, the more water particles there are!

Homework Find 3 examples of condensation that happens in the world. Draw a diagram and write a description explaining why there is condensation. (e.g. water droplets on a cold glass, wet walls and floors during cold & humid days, etc)
