  3. Facts • There are over 35,000 species of spiders found, and a possible 200,000 altogether! • Spider silk is stronger than steel • Spiders, scorpions and mites are all arthropods, so they have their bodies in sections.

  7. Case Study (Scorpions) Scorpions are arthropods classed under arachnids. They have a cephalothorax, abdomen, four pairs of legs and a long elusive tail normally topped by a stinger. Scorpions have bad reputations for stinging people, but in fact, only about 25 of the 1700 species of scorpion are venomous.
