  3. Punctuality Do NOT arrive late! Between 5-10 early is optimal

  4. Attire Dress based on the culture of the organization Be aware of tattoos and piercings and. Determine if they are appropriate based on the type of work you are interviewing for. Be presentable

  5. Body Language Avoid slumping, fidgeting, and crossed arms Appear confident and comfortable but not too mellow

  6. Communication Style • Communicate effectively: • Speak clearly • Be aware of tone of voice • Make eye contact • Actively listen • Mimic the interviewer’s energy

  7. Readiness Be ready to answer questions about yourself Research the company Have questions of your own to ask the interviewer Carry resume, portfolio, and means of taking notes

  8. Enthusiasm Show that you want to be employed at that company SMILE!

  9. Qualifications “Prove your competency” (Graves) Use each response as an opportunity to show that you have the skills and commitment to do the job
