Agenda • Overview • Let’s Go Walkin’ • What ARE these shapes? • Exploration Stations • What’s the Math? • Resources; Evaluations
Handouts • 1 shape from the Mystery Bag • Handouts • 2 stapled packets of templates • Resource page • What’s The Difference? • NC Standard Course of Study • CD-ROM • A copy of all the blackline masters • Additional resources
Let’s Go Walkin’ • With your shape in hand, walk around the room to the music. • When the music stops, quickly findONE person near you and buddy up. • Talk about your shapes. What is the same? What is different? • When the music starts again, bid farewell and beginwalking around the room to the music. • When the music stops again, quickly findTWO people near you and buddy up. • We’ll continue with THREE, FOUR, and FIVE!
What ARE these shapes? • Attribute Blocks
What ARE these shapes? • Pattern Blocks
What ARE these shapes? • Tangrams
Exploration Stations • With your partner, visit each of the 9 different stations. Play each game & explore each activity. • Put a check mark next to each station as you complete it. Record ideas, extensions and additional explanations you want to remember about each of the stations. Beprepared to share your thoughts & experiences at the end of the session.
