  5. Say What? • My smmr hols wr CWOT. B4, we used 2go2 NY 2C my bro, his GF & thr 3 :- kids FTF. ILNY. It’s a gr8 plc. • My summer holidays were a complete waste of time. Before, we used to go to New York to see my brother, his girlfriend, and their 3 screaming kids face to face. I love New York. It’s a great place.

  10. We have the world at our fingertips, but we don’t use it. • We are caught in a world of teens. We have instant social life. • We are distanced from our elders and other generations. • We have a lack of respect. • We have a need for instant gratification.

  11. What’s Next? • Should we be concerned? • What happens when language becomes oversimplified? What is gained? What is lost? • Is Big Brother watching? • How will we communicate in 20 years? Within this class we will be looking at how our language has changed throughout time.
