  2. Staff Training – New Client Setup ACS Financial Statement Formatting February 5, 2014

  3. Basics • Setup Rounding on the “Accounting Information Tab” of the client • Use the Standard Account Groupings as often as possible • Main Grouping is the Account Classification Grouping • Changing the Firm Account Grouping does not update existing clients

  4. Basics • RW Letters and Financials in the Resource Center • Download for a start? Then make your own modifications • Chart of Accounts (numbering) does not dictate the financials (in most cases)

  5. Tips • Use the transition to ACS as a time to make your financials more standardized • While every client is always unique, do they all really need a different style financial than other clients (some do – I know) • If you answer YES…. I want to know WHY? • Always try to start with a RW or Thomson F/S to start

  6. Important Items • Variables • Chart of Accounts Core – Uses the Account Groupings to Setup Financials • Chart of Account Activity – Uses Acct Number (not recommended in most situations) • Always try to start with a RW or Thomson F/S to start • If at all Possible – Do Not Convert F/S from CSA
