Material #1 • Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Movie) • 3 heroes that display leadership styles • Compare and Contrast how the attitude and style affects their decision
Material # 2 • Robin Hood-legend • Finding your passion • Do not have to proclaim yourself a leader to be one • Keeping focus of your goals
Material # 3 • “My Way” Song • Shows the frustration of followers who are led in a totalitarian matter • Leaders need their supporters • Responsibility of leaders and their followers
Assignments • Movie Review • Review film and analyze how lessons learned can be applied to personal life • And assess the overall knowledge gained
Assignments • Legend Essay • Incorporating knowledge acquired from both the movie and legend and writing a legend • The story must incorporate different characters with different values and leadership styles
Assignments • Song Analysis/Writing Own Song • Interpreting the song from point of view and writing an essay on evidence to support the analysis • Writing a song/poem that will allow students to express their own issues about leadership today
