Who ? • University College London  Research Group : “e-Science Centre of Excellence in Networking” • Composed by 15 people distributed in: • UCL - Computer Science • UCL - Electric and Electronic Engineering • UCL - High Energy Physics • UCL - Information Systems • …of them, 7 people working at High Energy Physics (including myself) JRA4 F2F Partners Meeting – UCL-11December 2003 - 3

What ? • High Energy Physics involve in two main projects: • MB-NG: Managed Bandwidth Next Generation (www.mb-ng.net) • DataTAG: Data for TransAtlantic Grids (www.datatag.org) • Aiming for: • High Throughput protocols: TCP & UDP based • End-to-end QoS: intra & inter – domain • Control Plane : MPLS • Bandwidth Allocation & Reservation ( INFN and Jülich ) • Also involve in other projects like DataGrid: • Network Monitoring WP7: development of XML schemas • Web Services development • Collaboration with: • GGF: GHPN : Grid High Performance Network • GGF: NM-WG: Network Monitoring • RAL, DANTE, Internet2, Canarie, etc… JRA4 F2F Partners Meeting – UCL-11December 2003 - 4

For EGEE • Responsible to manage and coordinate activity JRA4 • Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostic tools • Bandwidth Allocation and Reservation • IPv6 • Development of Bandwidth Allocation and Reservation and collaborate in the other tasks.
