What to Do • Don’t Procrastinate • It will take longer than you think • You will spend an equal amount of time (or even more) filling out the supplementary information • Read the instructions carefully • Know ahead of time what information you must gather • Transcripts, etc. • Decide on your references • Ask them ahead of time
What to Do • Find out if your institution has a place that handles grants (i.e. a research foundation) • Talk to other students in your area who have written NRSAs • They are invaluable • Gather examples from others students • Preferably ones that have been funded • Talk to your advisor/sponsor long before the deadline • They have to fill out Section 2
What to Do • Get biographical sketches for sponsor and any collaborators
