Summary Through various online communication mediums (i.e. email, wikis, blogs etc), students will discover where and under what conditions natural disasters are most likely to occur, as well as the impact they have on environment. Students will also discuss the disaster’s impact on global connection and suggest ways to counter challenges faced in distribution of aid in the affected areas.
Standards and Objectives • Creating awareness of natural disasters. • Identify the causes and statistics of different natural disasters. • Impact of natural disasters on environment and human activity. • Problems encountered after natural disasters and how to solve them. • Challenges encountered in distribution of aid. • Ensure timely delivery of aid in disaster affected areas.
Learning Outcomes • Conduct research on different disasters and prepare a presentation on it. • Understand the causes of different disasters and their impact on environment. • Collaborate and conduct awareness campaigns to collect aid for the affected areas. • Propose and establish ways to ensure the delivery of aid to the affected areas. • Establish the fact as to why countries come together to help the disaster affected areas.

Student Activities • Student prepare a presentation on the disasters by doing necessary research from various sources. • Student give presentation to the class on different disasters and answer all questions raised by the participants. • Survey is conducted to identify challenges encountered in distribution of aid. • Preparation of newsletter for starting a campaign to collect aid. • Students collaborate and conduct awareness campaigns to collect aid for the affected areas. • Quiz are conducted to evaluate the student’s knowledge on natural disasters. • Preparation of report : why different nations help each other in times of such catastrophe.
