Then people farmed for a living, now people can be a hospital worker and people can also try to start there own jobs. Then people had to make their tools, now people buy stuff like toys. If you missed church or fell asleep you would be punish. Only white men who owned land could vote. Women were not aloud to vote at all. Women did house work and men did outdoor work. They didn’t grow crops Farmers struggled because they had poor rocky soil and long cold harsh winters. because they could not grow crops so they began raising dairy cow and ships. They were also known for logging, whaling, and fishing. Fishers made a living from catching and hunting fish such as cod, herring, and mackerel. Trading or Bartering became the center of New England's economy. They had something called a triangular trade route. These routes connected England, the English colonies and Africa.
