  1. Do Now/DSW • What problem might arise if a scientist fails to control the variables in an experiment? If an experiment has more than one manipulated variable- the independent variable, any observed differences can not be known.

  2. Situation: A man marries 20 women in his village but isn't charged with polygamy. How come? Answer: He's a priest -- he's marrying them to other people, not to himself

Syllabus • Complete work and hand in on time • Now ‘real-world applications of what we are doing and why • Projects- part of this class and are required • Assessments- may not always be written- labs, assignments, projects • Make up work- your responsibility, check power teacher and my website • Late work-- may not be graded until next summer • Proficient is name of the game! • EVIDENCE !!!

What does this mean to you?Scoring • Know your scores from PowerSchool • Based on what You Know- only evidence in higher level of achievement • Indicates academic progress and achievement • INevAB- insufficient evidence- absent • NOTelg- not eligible to take assessment, not proficient on practice • need additional tutorials • InPrgr- In progress- can take assessment • NOWelg-student is now eligible to take assessment- proficient on practice • SEP (assessments): 80% • Practice: 10% • EOC (Final Exam): 10%
