A GLOBAL PRODUCT APPROVAL SYSTEM FOR THE FUTURE

This proposal aims to establish a harmonized global approval system for products, addressing the need for horizontal legislation, recognition of self-declaration of conformity, harmonized requirements, and simplified marking. It discusses the current situation, the role of horizontal and sectoral legislation, different approaches to future compliance, marking and user information, as well as the proposal for a WTO Conformity Assessment Agreement. The roadmap for the future includes discussions on regional levels and the adoption of fair and simple rules, suitable for all countries and market needs.
