Structure • Chairman comes from BCC appointee to Board • Votes only to break a tie • Flexible…Structured to anticipate “Consolidation” • Board of Directors: • 5 (1)appointees from each commissioner • 1 appointee from Town of Century • 2 appointees from City of Pensacola • 1 appointee from each invested “Chair”
EDC – Scope of Authority • To follow the economic development vision of the county’s elected representatives. • To acknowledge ‘stakeholders’ of interest in the community through “Chair” participation. • To insure that ALL citizens have a say in the economic development vision. • To eliminate the expectation that a few invest in economic development for the many. • To provide insight, consultation, and direction to the elected officials • To suggest policies, direction, and incentives to prospects in consideration, WITHOUT: • Compromising the cultural integrity, historical significance, travel & tourism, and the existing businesses and infrastructure • To incorporate the Pensacola Escambia Development Corporation (PEDC) into its operation as a development entity.
