of Poland Monitoring of energy efficiency in Poland
Public Statistics Statistical Surveys Programme Realized surveys: • Fuels and energy balances • Mining, electricity and heating • Specialistic statistical survey in scope of fuels and energy • Electricity, gas and oil products prices • Liquid and gaseous fuels Institutions involved: • Central Statistical Office • Ministry of Economy • The Energy Regulatory Office
Public Statistics Statistical Surveys Programme cont. • Data sources: • Surveys realized on specialistic energy forms • Secondary use of data from other forms • Data from foreign trade statistical system • Administrative data bases
Public Statistics Statistical Surveys Programme cont. • Surveyed units: • Up to 17,000 units surveyed annually – enterprises and organized units • Occasionally sample surveys - households, agriculture holdings and transport
Participation in the EU programmes • Inteligent Energy Europe: • New and renewable energy sources • Energy efficiency, especially in buildings and industry • Energy aspects of transport • Co-operation with developing countries • Evaluation and monitoring of energy efficiency in the new EU • member countries and the EU-25 Directive 2006/32/EC on energy end-use efficiency and energy services
Final consumption according to sectors
Final energy consumption in manufacturing according to divisions
Final energy intensity of manufacturing branches
Occuring problems • Increasing importance of demand side of balance – large number of units to survey (households, transport) • Increasing importance of small, but numerous energy producers – especially renewable energy sources
Directions of development of official energy statistics • Inclusion and coordination of statistical surveys of other public units • More customer directed approach
