  8. Take-home Messages • Clinical Trials are an excellent way to answer important public health questions • They require rigorous design, conduct, and analysis • They require oversight for safety and confidentiality • A strong code of ethics is essential

  9. Take-home Messages • Clinical Trials need to have adequate power to demonstrate a clinically important difference. Non-significant results are inconclusive (rarely if ever showing no difference). • Sequential monitoring is important for many trials.
