My Bathroom Non slip mat or strips for tub or shower? Shower seat or bench? Good lighting, including night light? Grab bars or rails? Easy to reach & turn taps? Gadgets including long handle brushes, soap mitts, tap turners, tooth paste squeezers & electric brusher? Newly designed walk-in tubs? Portable phone?
Your Medicine Cabinet Only medication that is prescribed for you. Are your medications clearly labelled? Have discussed your Meds with your pharmacist? Do you know the side affects of your meds? Do you have an updated list of your meds handy?
My Bedroom Good lighting with easy to reach switches from bed or hand remote switch? Accessible phone with special safety features? Lots of moving space, non cluttered floor? Night light & accessible flashlight? Good ventilation Assistive transfer aids, such as a lift bar, side bar or bedside pole? Functional bedding such as satin sheets & a light duvet?
Kitchen & Dinning Area Items using often within easy reach? A step stool, with rail, to reach higher? All switch easy to reach and put of & on? Non slip place mats with adaptive dishes and cutlery Adaptive prep tools and small appliances? Easy to use taps with grab tools? Clutter free and non slip flooring?
Other living Space! Good lighting in all rooms & hallways? Furniture, proper height & easy to exit? Clear pathway to phone &/or hands free? Important numbers posted & easily seen? Medical information posted &/or easy to access by all? Add electrical outlets & jacks to avoid extension cords. Consider other technical gadgets (T. V. or door security) for easier living?
