Conclusions Initial GIS analysis yielded several hundred matching polygons, ranging in size from less than a 1 foot up to 1/5 of a square mile. Reducing these selections for further review, we chose the 15 largest areas for closer evaluation. These areas provided broader allowances for the small yurt locations. Based upon a winter hiking distance, we located our proposed yurts 5-10 miles apart from each other. Our analysis and maps provide possible spatial arrangements for the 5 defined yurts with location alternatives as well.
