The IMPRS offers a unique mix of skills and a unifying group spirit. The curriculum includes advanced classes, seminars, soft skills training, international collaborations, and lecture weeks. With a focus on team building and community spirit, our programme accommodates 60 PhD students and supports networking. Opportunities for additional students and teachers to participate are available.

The IMPRS Curriculum ? • The challenge: • Already plenty of advanced classes available at Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH) • Gravitational Physics (Danzmann), Nonclassical Light (Schnabel), Quantum Optics (Klempt), Quantum Field Theory (Dragon), String Theory (Lechtenfeld), Supersymmetry (Zagermann), Nonlinear Optics (Morgner), Coherent Optics (Rasel), Advanced Topics in Special Relativity (Giulini), Nuclear Astrophysics (Leya), Gravitational Radiation (Schutz), Neutron Stars and Black Holes (Schutz) Avoid overload of students with seminars • HALOSTAR seminar, QUEST colloquium, Department colloquium, AEI Colloquium, Group Seminars, IMPRS Seminar? • Take advantage of tight integration MPG  LUH! • Build on stable base of advanced lectures! • Offer core curriculum tailored to our needs! 5

IMPRS Lecture Week Program • Mandatory for all IMPRS members • Three lecture weeks per year • Remote but nice location • All under one roof for one week • Three 2-hour lectures a day, plus exercises, group reports and social activities • Group building and community spirit • All students should obtain a basic understanding of their non-speciality topics! 9

  13. The IMPRS accommodates about 60 PhD students from Hannover and Golm. 15 of them are financed through the IMPRS. It supports networking and group spirit! The IMPRS curriculum comprising theory, data analysis, interferometry and quantum optics for everybody! Unique in the world! The IMPRS lecture weeks could accommodate additional PhD students from Scotland. Also teachers are invited to participate. Opportunities 13
