2. What is an adaptation? An adaptation is an alteration or adjustment in structure or habits, often hereditary, by which a species or individual improves it’s condition in relationship to it’s environment
3. Behavioural Adaptation. Behavioural adaptations is something an animal does, e.g. wolves staying in a pack to ambush and outmanoeuvre prey.
4. Physiological Adaptation Physiological adaptations is something the body can make, e.g., a skunk spraying to drive away enemies.
5. Structural Adaptation Structural adaptations is something of or relating to organic structure, e.g. a tortoise shell to protect it from predators and the sun.
6. Penguin Adaptations Penguins keep themselves warm using their blubber, which is a physiological adaptation.
When they are young they instinctively eat what their mothers throw up for them, which is a behavioural adaptation.
Penguins wings are made so that they are more suitable for swimming than flying. Penguins wings are more like flippers. This is a structural adaptation
