Don’t understand why that should happen with hits. Looking at px and pydistributions for a pencil beam (confirmed by CR) shows an RMS of around 0.7 Mev/c in each direction. (Even when the main space is filled with vacuum). Attempting to look at the distribution close to the production point, it appears virtual_hits are not being written out.
