HD 37806 Slavek Rucinski Halifax 2010
Ae/Be Herbig star • In the Sigma Ori cluster field. Orion OB1b association. • Young, moderately massive: 1.5 – 5 solar mass. • A2Vpe. V ~ 7.95. MV ~ +0.2. ~350 pc (420 pc) • HD 37806, known also as MWC 120 • One of first radio stars (Algonquin telescope 1973).
MOST data: Scalegram (DOG-2 wavelet) Stochastic self-similar noise process: X(λt) = λαX(t) The slope implies α ≈ 1.5, same for cataclysmic binaries.
The paper MNRAS: failure, insufficient interpretation and conclusions. A&Ap: A good, positive review, but… - Expand on interpretation. - Explain why not pulsations, eclipses, spots. - Include Hp data? Use raw TYCHO, if available. - The star is a binary! Recent paper, MNRAS 2010
