  3. OBTAIN THE FOLLOWING • 2 ZIP LOCK BAGs • 2 GRADUATED CYLINDER • 1 RED CUP BAKING SODA (NaHCO3) • 1 BLUE CUP CALCIUM CHLORIDE (CaCl2) • 1 FLASK INDICATOR SOLUTION

PROCEEDURE • Record observations of the physical characteristics of the baking soda, calcium chloride, and indicator. • Group A: Put 1 rounded teaspoon NaHCO3in one corner of the baggie • Group B: Put 1 rounded teaspoons CaCl2 in the corner of the baggie • Seal the baggie leaving a gap open in the middle

  5. PROCEEDURE • Using a graduated cylinder, measure 10 mL of indicator. • Pour the indicator into the opening of the baggie • Quickly seal the baggie closed. • Without opening the baggie, mix the contents of the baggie. Record observations.

  6. PROCEDURE Group A & B • Put 1 rounded teaspoon NaHCO3 in one corner of a new baggie • Put 2 rounded teaspoons CaCl2 in the opposite corner of the baggie • Seal the baggie leaving a gap open in the middle

  7. PROCEEDURE • Using a graduated cylinder, measure 10 mL of indicator. • Pour the indicator into the opening of the baggie • Quickly seal the baggie closed. • Without opening the baggie, mix the contents of the baggie. Record observations.
