How to authenticate students’ work ? • 40 hours class time • Most of student’s work to be done in class e.g., planning, writing the report • Indicate sources • Sign off by school principal Other possible methods: • Teacher assignment of concepts to be visited • Teacher assignment of cases to be studied • Class presentation/questioning by teacher • Keeping logbooks
Statistical Moderation • To iron out possible difference among schools in marking standards • Moderate SBA marks with reference to public exam results • The rank order of students determined by school will remain unchanged

Exemplars of Task-based Assessment Abilities assessed • to collect data/information of an economic phenomenon/issue and to give a proper description in the language of economics; • to analyse the economic phenomenon/issue identified using economic concepts/theories, together with appropriate diagrams and tools; • to present the arguments or deductions and to derive implications in a logical and systematic way; and • to discuss and evaluate arguments, proposals and policies from different perspectives and make informed judgments
