Anomalous • A-no-ma-lous • (Adjective) – a word describing a noun • Meaning: inconsistent with what is normal or expected; irregular; unusual • Example: • Even though she often is late, occasionally absent, and sometimes turns in her homework late, her teachers know her circumstances are anomalous.

Tumultuous • Tu-mul-tu-ous • (Adjective) – a word that describes a noun • Meaning: disruptive and disorderly; chaotic • Example: • She trusts him because he, too, grew up poor and had a tumultuous childhood.

Sangfroid • San-fwa • (Noun) – a person, place, thing, or idea • Meaning: Coolness and composure, especially during difficult situations. • Example: • The roommate stopped suddenly, startled by Olivia’s sangfroid.
