Target Lab. Update Transversity Xiaohui/Joe/Yi/Chiranjib Transversity Collaboration Meeting Tuesday… 11th Dec. 2007
Target Lab. OPTICS TARGET AREA
Oven Structure/Design/Test • Support tube broken initially • Couple of weeks delay • Oven temp test with the temporary • support structure done • Could reach 250 deg C • .New pick up coils installed / tested • EPR coil mounted temporarily • Overall, system ready after • a long break ! /working
Optics/Lasers • Almost all components for the 3 lines identified • Most of them ordered and in house now • Optics design completed • 6 single FAP and 2 duo FAP in lab. • 1 new duo FAP and 1 new single FAP ordered • Alignment done with two lasers now
Tests • Pumping going on • Initially problems with NMR signal due to bad • adjustment of the pick up coils • Adjustment done and now NMR works fine • Q-coil test, RF field measurement done as part of the • new system check • EPR set up and being worked on • Cell characterization on list • Spin flip /DAQ being worked on ( more in Yi’s slides • and Xiaohui’s on Friday )
Other…. • All new software together with GeN ones to be tested • Plan to have 20 cells. 16 already made • ( 17th one is being processed in W&M and 18th one was • broken…..repaired @ Princeton…..back in UVA) • Compass research @UKY almost close to being finished • Moment- of- Inertia to be measured shortly ( Gretchen) • Soon another same system to be made
In another few weeks :::::::::::: • Plan to continue working on NMR/EPR with • improvements to test the new cells • more spin flip tests Thanks to Wolfgang, Jian Ping, Todd, Al, Susan Ameya, Aidan, Jaideep ……
