  2. About you… • Write a letter to your teacher explaining any vital information about your culture and your loyalties. • What makes a good piece of writing. Go and stand beside the statement that is most important to you. • These choices will become our success Criteria/ O Whainga. • Use the ideas from the NāMahi to help you plan your writing. • I will use this to ‘diagnose’ any problem areas in the class so I can develop a literacy strategy for you.

  3. Self Evaluation • Look at your Success Criteria and read your letter through. • Assess how you feel you did and staple the Criteria to the letter.

  5. Cultural LOYALTY Do Now/ NāMahi: Stereotypes Brainstorm all of the stereotypes associated with Aranui High and Aranui the area. What about Teenagers in general – Brainstorm the stereotypes people have. What types of cultures do we have here? If your name is on the ‘Team Table’ then use the class post its from 2 lessons ago to create a class definition.
