Team Selection • Head and assistant coaches only selected their teams • Board had no input to team selection • No one else had any input to team selection
School Rules • We follow all rules and regulations same as any other high school sport • Academic Standards – Club will receive an ineligible list every Friday, there is no opportunity for correcting problems, so make sure your students get his assignments in on time • Academic suspensions are Sunday to Sunday • School sports physical is required

Coaches CommitteeErik Junkunc and Open • Coaches committee is the first step if a player or parent has an issue with on ice or off ice concerns • Do Not approach a coach after a game …24 hour rule must be applied • Committee will meet with all coaches on a monthly basis

Student Code of Conduct Knowingly use, attempt to use, possess, sell, or assist any other student in the use of the following: a. tobacco/tobacco products b. alcoholic beverages – some examples may include but are not limited to, transporting alcohol or drugs/drug paraphernalia in your car, consumption of alcohol, or c. Any form of controlled substance/drugs/look-a-like drug paraphernalia other than those prescribed by a physician for that student. 2. Exhibit gross misconduct or behavior/citizenship (outside of CLUB organized games and practices)
Student Code of Conduct If there is an alleged violation of the CODE, the athlete’s privilege of participating in hockey games is immediately withdrawn and a meeting will be held to discuss the infraction. The parent/guardian shall be notified and advised of the date and time of this meeting. This meeting will include the athlete, parents/guardian and the Icecats Hockey Board officers and include the coach, as well as other people involved with the alleged violation. The CODE record and consequences arecumulative beginning with the student athlete and parents signing of this CODE and continuing throughout the athlete’s entire high school career. These policies are in effect on or off campus throughout the entire calendar year, including weekends and summer break.
Student Code of Conduct • First Offense – 40% reduction of games • Second Offense – Entire season • Third Offense – Excluded from all high school sports for remainder of high school career • Cumulative, not just in the hockey season
Parent Code of Conduct Inappropriate and disruptive behavior shall include, but is not limited to, the following: · Use of obscene or vulgar language in a boisterous manner to anyone at anytime. · Taunting of players, coaches, officials, or other spectators by means of baiting, ridiculing, threat of physical violence or verbal abuse. · Throwing of any object in the spectators viewing area, player’s bench, penalty box or on the ice surface directed in any manner as to create a safety hazard. · The use of air-horns, bullhorns, laser pointers, loud speakers and similar devices is prohibited. OUR SECURITY WILL INTERFENE IN ANY OF THESE SITUATIONS.

Team Managers The manager is a direct liaison with the coaching staff. They will provide communication to the players and parents from the coaching staff. The manager will ensure that all score sheets are sent in on time. The manager will be responsible for their player’s personal files at each game. The manager will have score sheets for each game. The manager will have the complete USA hockey rosters and registration forms required for USA hockey. The manager will also assign parents with clock duty and metro guard for home games and scoresheet for all away games as well as coordinate team events. Homecoming/Pictures/Community Outreach • Volunteers: • __________________________ • __________________________ Homecoming -- responsible for working with the respective schools to coordinate the team’s participation in the homecoming events. This includes locker decorations, paint the town, and parade. Duties include completing any required school paperwork, organizing float, organizing players, and buying candy. Picture coordinator -- responsible for working with studio west to get picture slots for players as well as team photo. This also includes distribution of photos. Community outreach -- responsible for community programs such as volunteer events (1-2 events per year) and school events (freshman orientation)
Saturday Home Game: Pack the House • Volunteers: This is new this year. Instead of a single Fan Appreciation event, we are going to make Sat. home games more fun by increasing attendance with marketing and give-aways etc.
“Senior Night” Event Committee • Volunteers: The volunteers must not be from senior’s parents. Some of the tasks for the senior night are having a photographer for family pictures, posters, and pennants etc. The coordinators will work with the school liaison to ensure that this event is publicized. Mid to late January 2017
Award Banquet Committee • Volunteers: This committee is responsible for organizing the IceCats season ending banquet. They will set the banquet date, and location and send out invitations. The volunteers will work with the banquet location for food and beverage and decorations. The volunteers will order trophies and other awards, the volunteers will arrange for any gifts. We encourage parents for all ages (freshman-senior) to volunteer.
VIDEO COORDINATOR • Volunteers: We are working with the schools to provide students to provide videotaping and announcing during the weekend home games. If this occurs, we will need parent coordinators to help the students.
IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE BRING IT TO THE BOARD OR COACHES COMMITTEE - WHINING TO OTHER PARENTS/PLAYERS BEFORE OR AFTER A GAME ONLY DAMAGES THE PROGRAM COACHES ARE TRYING TO DO THEIR BEST - EVERY COACH HAS THEIR OWN STYLE; THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO MANAGE A GAME AND PLAYERS
For those few that have not submitted their pre dated checks – notice is given that your player may be removed from practice and games if unpaid balances are not satisfied. You are responsible for making timely payments or discussing a payment plan. Unpaid balances are not fair to the board or other club member who have paid their share.
2017-2018 Ad Book / Sponsor Program We are providing players and parents the opportunity to offset your personal expenses by soliciting sponsors for the IceCats on-line advertising book. No one will be required to sell an ad, this fundraiser is strictly optional. Although if you do decide to take advantage of this opportunity, all money raised will be split 60/40--60% going to you the seller and 40% to the IceCats Hockey Club as a fundraising effort Introduction Letter and Sponsor Communication Letter will be provided via e-mail.
7 UP Rule • The intent of this rule is to give players an opportunity to develop • JV Players can play a few games at the Varsity level to help develop their skills • Varsity Players – 7 Down rule has been changed this year, varsity players may only play down once approved by the League President
