  3. Aims and objectives: • Share 25 years of experience in Eindhoven in supporting self help • Explore opportunities for collaboration between self help and professional care • Clarify the position of self help in the whole spectrum of health care • Exchange international experiences

  4. Target groups: • Professionals in the health and welfare sector • Representatives from European self help support centres • Policy makers (local, regional, national and international) • Health insurance companies • Educational and scientific institutions

  5. Lectures: • Introduction to the conference theme • The start and development of the Self Help Network in Eindhoven • Self help in Europe • The Eindhoven policy on self help • The Netherlands policy on self help

  6. Workshops: • How can social policy facilitate self help? About the position of self help in the whole spectrum of health and social care • Support-workers About the bridge between self help and professional care • Quality or Quantity About the possibilities and traps of financial support of (local) government • From inside to outside About how professional institutions experience self help groups
