  3. POR • can mean for, through, by, in exchange for or it can indicate “for the sake of” Gracias por el regalo. Thanks for the gift. (in exchange for) Te doy $100 por el boleto. I’ll give you $100 for the ticket. (in exchange for) Te llamaré por teléfono. I’ll call you by phone. (by means of) El paquete llegará por correo. The package will arrive by mail. (by means of) Voy por tren. I’m going by train. (by means of)
