Freight Forwarders • Travel “agents” of the freight world • Certified Ocean Forwarder
NVOCCs • Buy space from carriers and “resell” them • Similar type: • NVOs : • consolidate small shippers • do the physical work • Sometimes NVO is used as an abbreviation of NVOCC.
EMC and ETC • Export Management Companies, EMC • Advisor to the exporter • Export Trading Companies, ETC • Buying, selling, marketing and transporting the products by itself • “Customer” for EMC would be considered a “supplier” for ETC
